Hairspray is an American musical. The songs include 1960s-style dance music and “downtown” rhythm and blues.

“Set In 1960 Baltimore, Maryland, plump teenager Tracy Turnblad’s dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance programme based on the real-life Buddy Deane Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight, and meets a colourful array of characters. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show.

Willowmoore High, in collaboration with StarTime Players, will be staging this musical in May 2017. Casting for this production will happen at Willowmoore High on the 26th and 28th of January, 2017, and we look forward to seeing a lot of Willowmoore talent on our stage – all are welcome. We are appealing for donations of items listed below for the show – please drop off any items, clearly marked, at the office or contact us to come and collect.
